Midwifery services

Child Project

As a midwife I can provide medico-psycho-social follow-up to get you in the best shape to become pregnant. With menstrual cycle tracking you learn a natural tool to handle your family planning, and get along with nutritional and activity advice. I’m constantly looking to educate myself to give you the best.

Homebirth

If your pregnancy allows it and if this is your wish, a home birth can be planned. It’s only 2 hours after the welcoming of a baby and his/her placenta that it can be talked about a home delivery. Birth is as safe as life gets. This is always a discussion to have in the privacy of homes and hearts. If this is a discussion you want to have please contact me before being 30 weeks pregnant.

The first year

Alongside the first year of life of your child, I am still in your pocket waiting to be a useful help for you. It can be about contraception, how is sleeping your child, beginning with solid food, as you go back to work, if you have questions about how to be a parent… according to my training but I also can help you find the professional who is the best to help your handle the issue that concerns you

Sometimes it snows in april

I can also be there for you when the challenges are too great for you and your family members. My aim is that everything that happens to us in life makes us stronger… a miscarriage, a bereavement can be things we have to go through and, with the right support, it no longer happens to us but for us in the long term.

Postpartum

I can come to visit as you return from the hospital to care for you and your newborn. Supporting you with breastfeeding and its challenges. I’ll answer the question you have and accompany the different steps in your motherhood.
If you only contact me to be your midwife after the birth of your baby, please take contact rond 35 weeks of pregnancy, it’s easier to choose your midwife before you need her to be sure that she is the good match for you. During post-natal care, it might be that I have to check your breast or your perineum and this is best that it’s done by someone you took your time to choose, the caring in this case is warmer and you have more confidence in the fact that you received the best cares.
This time is as long as you feel you need to have someone coming to home to feel completely confident in the way you are a mother.
I come every day until the baby is 5 days old minimum, then we speak together about how I stay useful for you in function of your needs and the ones of the baby. This happens in combination with social services like ONE or Kind en Gezin.

How can I help you?

My deep-rooted desire to be a Swiss Army knife for women means that I’m undergoing ongoing training in order to provide the finest possible support to the best of my ability. My ambition is not to cure everything in everyone, but to provide tools with which we can take even one step towards better well-being.

Hypnosis

Not only is the birth preparation I offer THE method for preparing for birth using hypnosis, but hypnosis is also an effective tool for bringing about profound changes in consciousness and thus inducing changes in behaviour that are more in line with our life ambitions. That’s why I trained in somatic healing and hypnovision.

Winnerflow

It was while listening to a podcast about birth that I first heard about this exuflatory mouthpiece. Intrigued, I first read everything I could on the subject; I also gave them directly to my patients at the time and finally, I did the training. It’s a magical tool that prepares women for birth by preserving their perineum, facilitating birth for both physiological births and caesarean sections and, finally, it’s the perfect tool for gentle, effective, non-invasive perineal rehabilitation. This is the tool that I give and explain to all the women who work with me.

About me

I always wanted to be a midwife..

Coming from a large family, I’ve always felt very close to babies.

After graduating in nursing, life took me on a long diversions through intensive care, cardiology, emergency and paediatrics as an interim nurse. I don’t think there’s a department in which I haven’t worked even a single night, as I’ve always preferred night work in hospital.

These 10 years of hospital work have taught me to care with all my heart, even if my heart has sometimes seemed small in certain circumstances. In care, it’s not possible or even desirable to go beyond your limits.

At the age of 32, I was finally able to start my midwifery studies. I had to learn Dutch, as there was no place for me in French-speaking schools.
